Other Online Advent Resources
The ecumenical online prayer website Sacred Space is offering a free online Advent Retreat. The theme of the retreat is ‘Waiting for Jesus’. It finishes on the 4th Sunday of Advent, 24 December 2023, which this year happens to be Christmas Eve. Each day, there is a new prayer and reflection - these will remain up on the Sacred Space Advent Retreat page for some weeks, so the retreat can be followed in your own time.

Hope is “the humble virtue, the virtue that courses beneath the water of life, that keeps us from drowning in the many difficulties and losing the desire to find God, to find that marvellous face that we will all see one day” – Pope Francis.
Tarsus Scripture School is a highly regarded online scripture study resource, supported by St Patrick's Pontifical University. It was founded in 1997 by Sr Carmel McCarthy, Seán Goan and Augustinian friar, Kieran O'Mahony (whose Sunday homily reflections feature weekly on our Sunday Homily Resources page).
The theme of this Advent Scripture Course is "Stories of Hope," and will focus on how hope is found in three very different texts in the Bible: Esther, Romans, and Mark. Advent is a time of expectation, and the hope of salvation that came with the birth of Jesus Christ. With recent news headlines of increasingly dangerous weather events, hostilities in various parts of the world, and further humanitarian crises, today's world is very much in need of the hope that Scripture can help us find in our lives.
There is a fee of €20 per household. This includes access to six online presentations which you can follow in your own time; a live Zoom meditation and a live Zoom webinar.
