"What qualities did the wise men exhibit as they travelled to Bethlehem? What inspired and sustained them on their pilgrim way? Attentiveness, Wonder, Courage and Trust are all distinguishing features of their remarkable journey. During this retreat we shall be exploring these key characteristics of our Advent adventure."
New Pilgrim Path discovered this insightful Advent retreat by chance. It is three years old and was delivered delivered by Canon John Udris and Avril Baigent, Director of Pastoral Development at the Diocese of Northampton. There are four online videos, each an hour long.

The Jesuits' enormously popular online prayer website, Sacred Space, will launch its Advent Retreat on Sunday 30 November 2025.
Introducing this year's retreat, Ciara Ó Catháin, Sacred Space's content editor, writes: “As we journey through these days of Advent, the darkest days of the year, this retreat invites us to ask: How can we move forward and help to bring Christ’s light into the world? God’s gaze is always waiting for us, especially in this time of Advent. All we have to do is show up, and love can do the rest. St. Ignatius gazed upon the heaven and stars, and when doing so, felt within himself a powerful urge to serve God. Do we give ourselves time just to pause and wonder and allow our light to shine?
This retreat aims to help us to do just that.
Self-guided, it can be undertaken at your leisure. A new and inspiring reflection and prayer guide is published each day.

For the coming season of Advent, the Tarsus Scripture School are offering a short course which explores the readings for this liturgical year. The readings will be from Isaiah, Romans, and Matthew. Over three pre-recorded inputs, the presenters will introduce these texts and how they help us prepare in hopeful anticipation for the birth of Jesus Christ. In addition to these presentations, there will be a live Q&A and Meditation webinar via Zoom. The intention is to help you enter into the season of Advent in a meaningful way. The course can be followed in your own time and pace in the weeks ahead.
